"We teach who we are."
"The courage to teach is the courage to keep one’s heart open in those very moments when the heart is asked to hold more than it is able so that teacher and students and subject can be woven into the fabric of community that learning, and living, require. "
-- Parker Palmer, The Courage to Teach
I believe that knowledge does not reside with the professor. Therefore, I work to create a classroom environment where students are encouraged not to be passive learners but active participants in the process of knowledge production. I bring to teaching fifteen years of experience and involvement with experiential teaching and learning and peace and justice activism, both in the Middle East and the United States.
